Feb. 21, SWAT and narcotics officers from Beaumont Police Department (BPD) and two other agencies executed a narcotics search warrant in the same block as the Bingman Head Start pre-K school.

Darron Patterson, 32, of Beaumont, was determined to be a convicted felon and was later transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where he was booked for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon. According to a BPD press release, officers served the warrant at a home in the 5200 block of South Kenneth Avenue at 8:35 a.m. Assisting BPD was the Lumberton Police Department K9 Unit and the Orange Regional Tactical Response Team.

BPD SWAT and narcotics detectives discovered a handgun, an AR-style pistol, suspected marijuana and more than $12,000 in cash inside the home. The narcotics investigation associated with the warrant is continuing.
