JSCO detectives find $19,000 worth of meth in Nederland home

Sunday, Jan. 19, two Nederland residents were arrested after a search warrant yielded approximately $19,000 worth of suspected meth, among other illegal narcotics and stolen property, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Woman killed in auto-pedestrian wreck

In the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, Jan. 19, Port Arthur police officers were called to the 5100 block of Highway 69 in reference to a major traffic accident where a vehicle struck a pedestrian. On arrival, officers found that a black female pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Around 8 a.m. Jan. 16, officers including the PAPD SWAT team served a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Lisa Lane, according to a news release, yielding approximately 50 lbs of marijuana, an “AR-style” firearm and a .45-caliber pistol.

Man robs Fuel Depot at gunpoint

Just before midnight Jan. 15, PAPD officers responded to the Fuel Depot on Gulfway Drive in reference to an aggravated robbery, according to a news release. A male suspect allegedly entered the business with a gun and demanded money from the clerk.
