Port Arthur police responded to reports of shots fired in the 800 block of Charleston Avenue around 10 a.m. Feb. 2, according to a news release. Officers found a female victim with minor injuries.

Saturday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m., Beaumont police responded to a call from McDonald's on Interstate 10 in reference to a victim of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Cyclist struck and killed on College Street

A 36-year-old cyclist was struck and killed by a car in the 2500 block of College Street around 2 a.m. Feb. 14, according to a news release.  The victim, identified as Jerry Lynn Brachett, was struck from behind by a Hyundai Accent traveling the same direction.

Port Arthur pedestrian struck by car in critical condition

A Port Arthur pedestrian was struck and is in critical condition after an accident that occurred around 10 p.m. Feb. 13 in the 1400 block of Jefferson Drive, according to a news release. Preliminary investigation revealed a 64-year-old man attempted to cross the street from East to West.

Passengers ejected in wreck cushioned by mud

Two passengers were ejected from a vehicle in an accident on Highway 12 in Vidor around 6 p.m. Feb, according to a news release from VPD. Three individuals, including an 11-year-old who was ejected, were taken to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth with non-life-threatening injuries.
