A Beaumont City Council member is facing a possible censure after allegedly uttering a series of seemingly lewd and inappropriate comments directed at the city’s attorney.

Officer-involved shooting at Temptations

At about 11 p.m. Sunday, March 1, Beaumont police were called to Temptations Club located on College Street regarding a suspect actively shooting at the business. Patrol officers quickly arrived and encountered a suspect with a gun, according to BPD information.

Fatal auto-pedestrian wreck in Vidor

Feb. 25, at about 11:45 p.m., the Vidor Police Department received a call regarding an auto-pedestrian crash in the 1600 block of N. Main Street in front of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The caller advised a black pick-up struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway.

"Severely neglected" elderly woman dies in PA

The Port Arthur Police Department made an arrest on Feb. 21 after receiving a call from emergency medical responders who were treating an elderly female. Officers responded to the 2900 block of Fifth Street after EMTs requested their presence.

Port Arthur man shot in foot

Port Arthur Police responded Sunday to a call in reference to a man who was shot in the foot under Taylor’s Bayou Bridge.  The victim reported that he was sitting in his vehicle when another vehicle drove toward him, according to a news release.

Early blossoms for bluebonnets

  Bluebonnets have been the Texas state flowers for almost 120 years. To welcome the new decade, bluebonnets are beginning to blossom earlier than normal. It is believed to be due to the unusually high temperatures in January of this year.

Victim stabbed during robbery

Saturday, Feb. 22, officers of the Port Arthur Police Department were called to 3105 Procter in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, initial investigation determined that the incident had taken place in the area of 11th Avenue and Sixth Street.
