DPS extends driver's license expiry

The Texas Department of Public Safety has approved a 60-day extension on driver's licenses with an expiration date of March 13, 2020, or later. The extension is valid for up to 60 days after the end of the governors disaster declaration, according to a letter from the department.

Housing authority closed beginning Tuesday

Beaumont Housing Authority offices will be closing to the public due to the COVID-19 outbreak, effective Tuesday, March 17, according to Beaumont Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer Allison Landrum. The closure will stay in effect until further notice, she advised.

Nederland Independent School District will close classes until March 23, officials released in a statement on Sunday, March 15. Classes were initially a go for Monday, March 16, but further concerns over the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 were exacerbated over the weekend.
