Attorney’s office takes over building façade

The Provost Umphrey law firm is moving its office to the Edison Plaza this spring, with crews now working on installing the firm’s name atop the downtown Beaumont building. Once complete, the signage would be visible to motorists facing both downtown and Interstate 10.

Last call

Texans have until Monday, Jan. 31, to register to vote in the March 1 primary elections. Jefferson County Voter Registrar Allison Nathan Getz also reminds voters that individuals wishing to vote in the primary must make any necessary corrections to their name and/or address on or before the Jan.

State hospitals offering hiring bonuses

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is offering up to $5,000 in hiring bonuses for certain health care positions at state supported living centers and state hospitals across Texas.

Accused murderer treated for bullet wound

According to a probable cause affidavit alleging 21-year-old Stephen Raivon Angelle of Port Arthur killed a man just days before Christmas 2021, it was a gunshot wound to the suspect’s foot that led police to his side. Angelle was indicted for the late 2021 murder charge Jan. 19.
