Sizzling Summer Pickleball Tournament

The Southeast Texas Pickleballers will host the second annual Sizzlin Summer Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center, 6455 College St. This is a mixed doubles round-robin tournament. Play will begin at 8 a.m. and games will be played indoors and outdoors.

Drought conditions improve in Hardin Co.

Drought conditions in Hardin County continue to improve somewhat throughout much of the county, according to County Judge Wayne McDaniel. He noted the Keetch-Bryan Drought Index (KBDI) average is down to 531 on Aug. 7. It was 581 several days ago.

Missing man's body recovered from waterway

Woman arrested on drug charges

A Lumberton woman was arrested Aug. 7, after Lumberton Police Department officers, along with Hardin County Sheriff Office (HCSO) deputies, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of W. Walton Road.

Two times a robber

The Beaumont Police Department asked for the public’s help July 27 in identifying an aggravated robbery suspect that allegedly robbed clerks at L & P Market, 2855 Washington, twice in 10 days. The suspect is described as a black male, skinny and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8.
