Vidor police Oct. 11 arrested an 18-year-old from Louisiana for possession of a controlled substance after smelling the odor of marijuana and finding Oxycodone and cocaine.

According to an arrest report penned by Officer Dillon LaPoint, VPD was called to IH-10 east in reference to a driver repeatedly striking the inside median divider in a 2018 Nissan Sinada. The witness followed the reckless driver to keep dispatchers informed.

The driver, identified as Emily Claire Bond, 18, decided to pull over toward the inside shoulder when the responding officers initiated a traffic stop. Bond once again struck the inside divider when pulling over for officers, LaPoint reported.

The officers noted the “strong smell of marijuana” emanating from the vehicle. Bond acted nervously and moved around the vehicle as officers approached. Officer LaPoint reported finding a white, powdery substance in a line on the passenger seat. Bond wiped the powder off the seat as she exited the vehicle, he wrote, and grabbed her pants several times, as if she were trying to conceal something.

As a female officer patted down Bond, a plastic bag fell from her pants. The pill in the bag was later identified as a mixture of Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. The powdery substance was confirmed to be cocaine. Bond posted bond by Oct. 14.
