Beaumont Police Department (BPD) officers investigated the cause of three homicides within several hours on March 19.

At 5:55 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Broadway Street in reference to a welfare check after an unknown caller advised there appeared to be a deceased male inside the vacant residence near the front door. Officers discovered the front door open and Eric Lydell Holman, 44, of Beaumont, dead inside the home.

BPD reported there were no obvious signs of trauma to Holman but, due to suspicious circumstances, the investigation is ongoing. Pct. 1 Place 1 Justice of the Peace Naomi Doyle has ordered an autopsy.

Nearly an hour later, at 7:06 p.m., officers were called to the 2000 block of Magnolia Avenue about a shooting victim. The caller advised that someone was shot near a store. Officers found Nicholas Hughes, 29, of Beaumont, in the alley behind Ace’s.

BPD reported investigators obtained a murder warrant for Malcolm Jamall Haymond, 35, of Beaumont, for the murder of Hughes. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. set bond at $900,000, but Haymond was still at large as of press time.

At 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 4100 block of Chaison Avenue about shots fired to find a male subject shot inside of a vehicle. Officers found Tadran Amon Carmon, 17, of Beaumont, inside a white 2015 Kia Optima that was backed into a yard. Carmon was pronounced dead on scene by Beaumont EMS. Pct. 6 Justice of the Peace Ransom Jones ordered an autopsy.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact BPD at (409) 832-1234.
