Police in Port Arthur are currently searching for suspects connected to three separate home invasion robberies that were committed in between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on April 23.

Port Arthur Police are searching for a suspect in an aggravated robbery in the 7900 block of Heatherbrook Trail that was reported on Sunday, April 20, at approximately 1:06 a.m.

According to a news release from PAPD, a female victim told police that she was held at gunpoint and her purse stolen. She reported having cash and personal items in the stolen bag. The suspect fled the area, and the woman was not injured in the incident.

Port Arthur resident Theodore Hardie, 31, has been sentenced to a term of 20 years in the state penitentiary and fined $10,000.00 in connection with a 2012 case where the defendant and his brother plotted to retaliate against the wife of a witness slated to testify in a Hardin County home invasion aggravated robbery announced Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw. An auto-pedestrian accident in the 8400 block of U.S. 69 in Port Arthur on Feb. 25 at about 10:25 p.m. resulted in the death of 50-year-old Port Arthur resident Lester "LC" Cowart.

According to a news release from PAPD, officers responded to the accident and determined that a person attempting to cross the freeway on foot was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of traffic.

Around 7:45 a.m. PAPD officers were dispatched to 1300 Freeman Ave. in reference to an auto-pedestrian accident involving two Abraham Middle School students who were struck by an SUV in front of Washington Middle School, at the corner of 12th Street and Freeman Avenue.

While responding to the first call regarding shots fired in the 300 block of 9th Street at approximately 10:13 p.m., PAPD received a second call about a shooting victim in the 900 block of 10th Street.
