A Port Arthur man was assaulted and robbed early Monday morning, Sept. 16 in the 1000 block of West 14th Street, the Port Arthur Police Department reports in a press release.  The victim, a 30-year-old black man, advised police that around 1 a.m. he was approached by several black males who assaulted him and took his money, according to a PAPD press release.

Port Arthur police are currently investigating a kidnapping that resulted in the sexual assault of a young woman taken from her residence  on Sixth Street in Port Arthur on Wednesday night.

A driver crashed through the front wall of Larry's Discount Beer & Wine on Memorial Drive in Port Arthur on Wednesday morning, Sept. 4. Police confirmed the manager's statement that there were no injuries in the crash. It's unclear who was driving at the time of the accident, but the vehicle is registered to a Maria Rodriguez who lives on Gober Street in Beaumont.

A 12-year-old boy in Port Arthur locked himself in a bedroom and called police when he heard strange noises outside his home Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 20. When police arrived, they arrested two men who were apparently attempting to burglarize the boy’s home.

Detectives with Port Arthur Police Department's Major Crime Unit are currently investigating a report of possible child abuse after receiving a call from a local hospital regarding life-threatening injuries to a one-month-old child.

In honor of National Immunization Awareness Month, the City of Port Arthur Health Department will host a special immunization clinic Thursday, Aug. 22, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at 449 Austin Ave., Port Arthur.
