On Wednesday, Sept 10, at 11:10 p.m. Officers were dispatched to 2310 Birch St. in reference to a missing person. Family members reported the disappearance of a 16-year-old male who was last seen leaving the residence on a motorcycle. Officers searched throughout the night without finding the missing person.

Drivers heading to work in Port Arthur should expect road delays Monday morning, May 12 as the Port Arthur Police and Texas Department of Transportation will closing off several southbound lanes on Highway 69 to reconstruct an accident that occurred on May 2.

Several southbound lanes of Highway 69 will be closed starting at 9 a.m. and will be remain so for 2 to 3 hours. There will only be one lane open on Highway 69 South, so motorists heading into Port Arthur should expect delays.

Port Arthur police responded to reports of a vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Peck Avenue on March 27 at about 1:50 p.m. When they got there, they discovered the vehicle had been the subject of a carjacking and an ensuing struggle with the suspect ended in a fatal officer-related shooting, PAPD reports.

A Port Arthur man is dead after the car he was driving went into the canal near the Memorial Boulevard and Highway 73 exit ramp.

Port Arthur police have identified the driver as Mikel Anderson, 26, of Port Arthur.

According to a PAPD press release, around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, PAPD officers, the Port Arthur Fire Department and EMS units responded to a 911 call of a car in the water near 4600 Memorial Blvd.

An officer responding to a family disturbance shot and killed a suspect who was brandishing a knife and reportedly threatened officers at a residence in the 3800 block of 29th Street on Friday, Nov. 1.

A man was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Port Arthur on Friday morning, Aug. 30, resulting in his death.

Port Arthur Police took four men into custody as suspects in an aggravated assault in the 1300 block of Delaware Drive Saturday night, August 17.

According to a news release from PAPD, officers were dispatched to Delaware Drive at approximately 9:35 p.m. in reference to an assault victim. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the male victim who had sustained "several injuries," police reported. Witnesses advised police the man was assaulted by several armed suspects.

A Port Arthur woman died Saturday, June 8, after being struck by one vehicle and run over by a second. Fifty-three-year-old Port Arthur resident Monica Johnson was struck by a silver vehicle at the 3300 block of Proctor Street in Port Arthur early Saturday morning while walking. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 3:59 a.m. and learned that the driver who struck the woman had failed to stop and render aid, according to a Port Arthur Police Department press release. While Johnson was lying in the roadway, she was run over by a second vehicle that did not see her.
