Police in Pinehurst, intent on combating juvenile mischief, arrested two youths in possession of firearms Monday, Feb. 17, according to a news release from Chief Fred R. Hanauer III.

Police in Orange are looking for suspects in the shooting death of 35-year-old Emanuel Thornton of Orange, who was shot multiple times while in the front yard of a residence.

According to a news release from the Orange Police Department, on Thursday, Jan. 23, at about midnight, police dispatch received a call regarding shots fired in the 1500 block of Carter Street. Upon arrival at the scene, officers saw Thornton lying in the yard with multiple gunshot wounds. Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Rodney Price pronounced Thornton dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy.
