A counselor manning the Spindletop Center crisis hotline listened as Hollie Arredondo told him her son was trying to kick in the door of her Nederland apartment. Then, after a crash the counselor thought to be the door finally giving way, the connection was abruptly severed.

Orange assault victim update - police searching for victim's grandson

According to information from the Orange Police Department, on Wednesday, April 6, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect in the April 5 attempted murder case of 51-year-old Sylvia Vaughns.

Vaughns, who was transported to UTMB in Galveston by helicopter due to the severity of her injuries, was still recovering in the island hospital at press time and investigators say they are searching for the victim’s grandson as the aggressor responsible for her life threatening injuries.
