Jefferson County Sheriff's Office announced Monday, April 14, that a murder warrant has been issued for a man previously wanted for tampering with physical evidence in relation to the killing of 53-year-old Dallas resident Kevin Alton Moyer whose body was discovered naked and wrapped in a sheet in the backseat of a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta on South China Road on the morning of April 5.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the murder victim discovered on South China Road on the morning of April 5 and is still searching for one man in relation to the murder. JCSO reports the victim was 53-year-old Kevin Alton Moyer of Dallas.

A 59-year-old Beaumont man is dead and a reportedly mentally ill resident of a rental home where the victim was working, a 34-year-old Beaumont man, is in custody for stabbing the man to death on Monday, April 7.

Two of three men wanted in relation to a murder investigation in Jefferson County are in custody as of April 7, Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies report, and the search is on for the third man, 27-year-old Cody Jamar Lewis of Beaumont, who should be considered armed and dangerous. The murder investigation was initiated as the result of a body discovered on South China Road in China on Saturday morning, April 5.

UPDATE: Beaumont police have apprehended 26-year-old Joe Frederick Hawkins of Beaumont who was wanted as a suspect in a triple homicide that took place over the weekend. If convicted, Hawkins faces the death penalty for capital murder. A Port Arthur woman has been charged with hindering his apprehension.

A Port Arthur woman has been charged with murdering her ex-husband after he allowed her to move in when she was homeless.

Gayle Annette Waller, 52, was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury Jan. 30 for murder, a first-degree felony.

Port Arthur Police report they arrested 52-year-old Gayle Annette Waller on Nov. 3 after discovering the body of her ex-husband, 59-year-old Daniel Lee Dubois, on Nov. 2, nearly a week after the man was stabbed to death.

A 32-year-old Vidor, Texas man was sentenced today for his role in a March 2011 murder committed in furtherance of the SWS criminal enterprise in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today, Oct. 28.

Kenny Don Stanley pleaded guilty on June 25, 2013, to murder in aid of racketeering and was sentenced to life in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.
