Detectives with the Beaumont Police Department are working to determine the identity of two men responsible for killing a clerk during a robbery attempt at a west end convenience store, BPD reports.

At about 12:17 a.m. on April 29, patrol officers responded to a holdup alarm at the Pick N Shop located in the 800 block of S. Major, according to a news release from BPD. When officers arrived, they discovered the 52-year-old clerk dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

U.S. Marshals located and arrested 25-year-old Marylou Garcia for her connection in the aggravated kidnapping case of a juvenile, which police say is connected to the January murder of Lamar student Rhydan Bolton.

Marylou Garcia was taken into custody March 12, the day after her cousin, 17-year-old Rogelio Garcia, was also arrested for aggravated kidnapping.
