Body found is Chris Reich, authorities said.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has identified the body discovered by the U.S. Coast Guard on Monday, Feb. 3, as 35-year-old Chris Reich, who was last seen on Jan. 17, 2014. The reported cause of death, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office press release, is drowning.


Police are searching for Elizabeth Regina Carrier, a fugitive wanted for nine charges of felony theft with bonds totaling $175,000.

In a press release, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office described Carrier as a "serial felony shoplifter" and explained that she is suspected to be part of a shoplifting ring operating in the county.

Carrier, AKA "Regina," is 32 years old, weighs 160 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes and has a tattoo of a rose on the right side of her neck.


The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Warrant Division is asking the public’s assistance in locating a serial narcotic distributor. The warrant division is attempting to locate:

A Fannett man is in jail after shooting his father and leading police on a high-speed chase between Beaumont and Fannett Sunday night, Nov. 3.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies found two men and one woman dead Sunday, June 30, after what appears to be a double murder and suicide at McFaddin Beach.

Deputies responded to several 911 calls in reference to a shooting in progress at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found three individuals had been shot, including the shooter. The victims were a man and woman; the shooter was a male adult. According to police, the shooter had a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
