The city of Beaumont Streets and Drainage and Building Codes departments, Beaumont Fire and Rescue, and Beaumont Police Department responded to a building collapse Monday, Sept. 15 in the 2100 block of Irving Street.

The building, which last housed the old Club Signature — a nightclub that has been closed for several years and fell into disrepair — collapsed around 12:30 p.m, said Capt. Earl White from Beaumont Fire and Rescue. It was tagged as substandard by city officials in 2013, he said.
