A Louisiana man is dead after the riding lawnmower he was driving was struck by a pickup truck on the service road of Highway 69 North in Beaumont.

Saturday, March 29, at about 8:12 p.m., Beaumont police responded to a report of a major crash on the northbound service road of the 8300 block of Eastex Freeway.

A Beaumont man has been indicted after entering the Beaumont police station lobby brandishing a semi-automatic pistol.

Andrew Bradderson Savoy, 31, was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury March 13 for making a terroristic threat, a third degree felony.

Beaumont resident John William Alexander Jr., 45, has been sentenced to ten years in prison announced Criminal District Attorney Cory Crenshaw.

Alexander previously pled guilty on February 10, 2014, to Failing to Stop and Render Aid causing death and felony Driving While Intoxicated.

Monday, Jan. 6, at about 7:50 p.m., Beaumont Police Department patrol officers responded to a reported shooting victim in the 5600 block of Lancaster. Officers arrived and found  20-year-old Emanuel Burleigh of Beaumont with an apparent gunshot wound to his  upper body. Paramedics on scene said the man was dead.
