There are plenty of Beatles tribute bands, but only one was handpicked by someone who knew the Fab Four intimately.

Louise Harrison, the sister of the late George Harrison of the Beatles, lovingly chose four young men to represent the Beatles in tribute to the most famous band in popular music.

“The Liverpool Legends Beatles Tribute Band presents the very best portrayal of the The Beatles that I have ever seen,” Harrison said.

Just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, a call was received reporting a child had been burned at 8110 Quail Hollow. Beaumont Fire Rescue, Beaumont EMS and Beaumont Police units responded. When they arrived, they found that a 2-year-old child had knocked a pot of boiling water off the stove and suffered severe burns to his chest and both arms. Air Rescue was called to the scene. Beaumont EMS treated the child while Beaumont firefighters set up a landing zone in a vacant lot nearby. Beaumont Police officers were investigating the circumstances of the injury.

Orange Police are currently searching for a male and female who robbed a convenience store there on Monday evening, March 2, reports the Orange Police Department.

On Saturday, March 7, 2014 from 7:30a.m. to 2 p.m., the 6th Annual Gusher Marathon will begin and end at the Lamar University Montagne Center. The course circles Lamar University and proceeds along MLK Parkway to College St and also winds through downtown Beaumont.

Sunday, March 1, at 1:45 a.m., the Port Arthur Police Department responded to a report of a drive-by shooting in the 5200 block of 12th Street.. Officers arrived and learned that there were occupants inside the residence but none were injured despite several rounds penetrating multiple walls of the residence. Occupants of the residence were all inside when the shooting began and were able to give a limited description of the suspect vehicle involved. The incident is currently being investigated.

On Monday, March 2, Highway 365 between West Port Arthur Road and 67th street in Port Acres will be closed from 8:30 a.m. until around 1 p.m. for traffic accident reconstruction. The Roadway will be closed and impassible to all traffic in both directions during this time. Please make alternate travel arrangements and avoid this area during this time.
