According to a posted agenda for the Jefferson County Commissioners Court, the elected officials are set to appoint a new judge to fill a vacancy left in the County Court at Law No. 2 office with the passing of longtime public servant Judge Lupe Flores. Under regular business to be approved by the commissioners  Monday, June 22, the court will "consider filling the vacancy created in County Court at Law No. 2 ... with Mr. Cory Crenshaw, such appointment to become effective June 29, 2015.

Nearly 400 participants turned out for the 2015 Calder Twilight 5K on Friday, June 12, hosted by the City of Beaumont and the Sea Rim Striders.
