An accident between an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck has a portion of North Street closed off as of 10:45 a.m. The accident occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. at N. Pearl St. and North St. in Beaumont. A Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy was on the scene diverting traffic around the accident. According to the driver of the tractor trailer, he was turning left and the pickup truck attempted to pass on the left, veering into the curb causing damage to the front driver's side tire of the pickup truck.
