Vidor Street Crimes unit makes 9 arrests

Friday, July 6, the Vidor Police Department Street Crimes Unit conducted narcotics investigations that led to the arrest of nine individuals. During this operation, the Vidor Municipal Court issued two warrants and Jefferson County issued a felony warrant.

Around 9 p.m., Street Crimes officers went to 973 Gibson. Consent to search was granted by homeowner Edward Eugene Harvey. Harvey, 47, along with Heather Mae Collier, 20, and Felicia Lee Shutts, 32, were all arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The three were taken into custody and later transported to the Orange County Jail.

At 11:54 p.m., the Street Crimes Unit went to the Vidor Apartments at 655 S. Archie. Officers found five men in an open area of the apartment complex. The men were drinking alcoholic beverages while playing loud music. Three were found to be in possession of marijuana, and two of the five men were found to be consuming alcohol and were considered minors under the Alcoholic Beverage Code. Two of the men were found to have furnished alcohol to minors. The two that had furnished alcoholic beverages were identified as Joel Rodriguez Velazquez, 25, and Angel Roberto Navarro Doblado, 25. Also arrested was Marcos Tulio Martinez, 28, for possession of marijuana. Zachery Taylor Brodeur, 17, and Freddy Manuel Vasquez, 19, were both arrested for minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage and possession of marijuana.

Officers also went to 420 S. Main and found James Henry Lunsford, 24, who was being sought for an outstanding felony warrant out of Jefferson County for possession of a controlled substance.
