Stabbing in Beaumont
Police in Beaumont are still searching for a suspect in an overnight stabbing that occurred over the weekend and left a Beaumont man with minor injuries.
According to a news release from BPD, at about 1:24 a.m. on June 21, patrol officers responded to a reported fight at the Beaumont Lodge Motel located at 2525 N. 11th Street. The caller advised that a large crowd had gathered and several people were involved in the fight. As officers were en route, dispatchers advised them that a person had been stabbed in the shopping center parking lot located across the street from the motel. When officers arrived to disperse the crowd, they were told that the victim had been transported via private auto to the St. Elizabeth's Hospital emergency room.
Officers spoke with the victim in the ER who was being treated by medical personnel. He was described by police as "alert and conscious." The victim told officers that he had been involved in an earlier disturbance with a group of men. The disturbance ended up at the shopping center parking lot where a physical fight started. Sometime during the fight, the victim suffered the minor cut. He was unable to describe the weapon used and gave a description of the suspect as a black male in his early 20’s, about 6-foot to 6-foot-1 in height with a light complexion.
The victim was release after being treated by hospital staff.
