Man in Orange assaulted with brick, wooden stick
Orange Police are currently investigating an attack that occurred over the weekend in Orange. Four suspects allegedly attacked a 42-year-old Orange resident on Sunday, April 7, at approximately 1:34 p.m., striking the man with a brick and a large stick while he was walking in the 300 block of Schley Ave. in Orange, police reported.
According to OPD Officer Taylor Saleme, he was dispatched to Schley Ave. and met with the victim upon arrival at the scene. The man told Officer Saleme he was walking down the block when four young, black males approached him and began assaulting him. The victim alleged one of the men used a brick to repeatedly strike him in the temple and another hit him multiple times with a large, wooden stick. The suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of police, but the victim was able to identify one of the men who attacked him, according to the report. The officer reported observing a deep laceration across the victim's forehead. The man refused medical treatment at the scene, and told police he would go seek medical treatment via personal transport. Police are still looking into the matter. The victim said he wished to pursue charges against the men for aggravated assault, according to police.
