Kountze superintendent resigns

The board of trustees for the Kountze Independent School District is expected to accept the resignation of KISD superintendent Kevin Weldon on Friday, Dec. 21. According to information from the district, Weldon is leaving to accept a position at another school district.

KISD’s board of trustees also expected to name an interim superintendent at the Dec. 21 meeting of the group, but has not specified who will fill the position.

Weldon had been at KISD for a little more than a year, as a year-to-year contract employee. He re-signed his contract with the school district in November of this year.
