Juvenile indicted for child molestation
A Bridge City juvenile has been indicted on at least two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child after he allegedly molested 8 and 9-year-old girls. Gabriel Thomas, 15, of Bridge City is being tried as an adult for allegedly molesting the girls at a 58th Street residence in November 2012. The girls and Thomas were family friends, and the molestations occurred during a weekend stay at the home with several other family members and friends. According to a probable cause affi- davit obtained by The Examiner, the first molestation occurred Nov. 9, 2012, the second molestation occurred Nov. 12, 2012. Both girls repeated their outcry to the Garth House and police several days later. Thomas has denied the allegations. Prosecutors familiar with the case said more charges could come as a result of that night’s alleged molestation. Thomas is set to appear in Judge John Steven’s Criminal District Court on Sept. 23.
