Fatality wreck slows I-10 East

A fatality wreck that occurred in the early morning hours of Aug. 3 on Interstate 10 in Rose City was cleared allowing traffic to move freely by 8:20 a.m.

According to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a woman was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when she caused the collision.

Witness statements reveal the woman had been traveling "several miles" down the wrong side of the freeway before hitting an 18-wheeler truck. Additional information stated she had entered the freeway on the wrong side in Orange at Highway 62, near Flying J.
