Friends, family and co-workers of Theresa Fillyaw gathered Wednesday, April 6, to honor her memory by dedicating a tree in Legacy Park; a project of the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc., to honor those who are or have been affiliated with LC-M schools. Theresa taught at Little Cypress Elementary from 2005 to 2007. In her comments to those attending the ceremony, Dr. Pauline Hargrove, LC-M Superintendent emphasized that although there for a short time, Theresa made an enormous impact on the students and staff with whom she worked.

The sasanqua camellia was donated by Victor and JoEllen Enmon and Gene and Cheri Bouillion, friends of the Fillyaws. The park is located in the wooded area next to the LCM Administration Building at 6586 FM 1130.

Pictured - Gathered around the flowering tree are JoEllen and Victor Enmon; LC-M Superintendent, Dr. Pauline Hargrove; Special Programs Director, Dr. Jim Armstrong; Betty Fillyaw and Bobby Fillyaw, Theresa’s mother-in-law and husband; and Gene and Cheri Bouillion.
