Detectives name man arrested in attempted murder, aggravated robbery
Ronnie James Lafleur, a 53 year-old man from Nome, Texas, was treated and released from the hospital and booked into Jefferson County Jail on charges of attempted capital murder ($500,000 bond), aggravated robbery ($500,000 bond) and a parole violation.
A Beaumont Police Department press release says that on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at 7:34 p.m., Lafleur robbed the clerk at gun point at Kris Food Mart, 3090 Gulf. A Beaumont Police patrol officer was in the area during the robbery and exchanged gun fire with Lafleur. Lafleur was struck several times and transported to the hospital by EMS.
No one else was injured. The press release says the officer reacted quickly and "did an excellent job apprehending a dangerous felon."
