Car wash, link sale to benefit family in crisis

The Johnson family

On the last day of school, when most students anxiously count down the minutes until they can kick off their summer festivities, Vista Academy of Beaumont students are excited to remain at school to perform a service for a family in need.

Friday, June 6, beginning at noon and continuing until the cars stop coming to Vista Academy of Beaumont at Triumph Church, students, teachers and volunteers will be hosting a Car Wash & Link Sale Fundraiser for the Johnson Family.

Ryan Johnson, 32, passed away unexpectedly May 22, leaving behind a beloved wife of 10 years, Maren, and two young children. In the wake of such sadness, Vista Academy students were inspired to act action on the last day of school by hosting a fundraiser to benefit their fellow student, Braydon, and his mother, who served as the school’s volunteer music teacher and PTO board member.

Car washes are a $5 minimum. Participants can also purchase a link or hot dog, which comes with a cold drink and chips, for an additional $5 minimum donation.

Triumph Church is at 10255 Eastex Freeway in Beaumont.
