Boil water notice in Orange County
Orange County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1 has issued a boil water notice in the area south of I-10, west of N. Main (Highway 105), and north of W. Railroad in Vidor, according to a public notice released by the district Dec. 11.
A repair will require all affected residents on the district’s system to observe a boil water notice, the district said in the notice.
The public notice states, “The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our public water system, O.C.W.C. & I.D. #1, PWS ID 1810005, to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. This rescind notice will be issued in the same manner as the boil water notice.”
