BISD Police Officer indicted

BISD Police Officer indicted

The Jefferson County Grand Jury has indicted Beaumont Independent School District Police Officer Michael Trahan for allegedly committing the offense of aggravated sexual assault of a female.

The incident is said to have occurred on April 15, 2011, following his work at an extra job. The indictment states Trahan coerced the alleged victim into performing oral sex on him using his authority as a peace officer.

Trahan has been on paid leave from the BISD PD since June. The case was originally investigated by the Beaumont Police Department and sent to the district attorney several weeks ago. The case was indicted by the July term of the Grand Jury.

Trahan told The Examiner the allegations against him are untrue and he has retained an attorney to help him fight the matter in court.

"Flat out, that's not what happened," Trahan said. "I am innocent and I believe the court will see it that way."

Attempts to contact BISD PD Chief Clydell Duncan did not answer a call for comment.

BISD spokesperson Craig Eichhorn released the following statement from the district, "Beaumont ISD police Officer Michael Carl Trahan has been indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury for aggravated sexual assault stemming from an incident not related to BISD employment. Trahan has been placed on administrative leave with pay from his position with BISD.  Trahan joined the BISD Police Department in October 2008. Since legal proceedings are continuing, Beaumont ISD will not be releasing any more information at this time."

I have worked with Michael

I have worked with Michael Trahan and for himas well. There just isnt anyway this happened.

michael Trahan

I have known Michael since he was a child and there is no way that Michael would have done what he is accused of doing. Has anyone given this young lady a lie detector test. I question her motives. Michael has been in law enforcement since he graduated from high school and tho not perfect he is a good person and is of good character.

Abuse of authority

They will and do abuse their authority. And it's unfortunate that they most always get away with it.

I called animal control in Beaumont to come pick up a little feral kitten.I ended up getting a ticket because the mother feral cat didn't have a rabies immunization. How can you immunize it You can't get any where the near that cat. It's wild. He also ran my driver license for warrants. And made me show him the immunization papers for my Pomeranian. And he never so much as saw ny dog who was asleep on my couch. Now tell me that's not abuse of authority.

Craig Eichhorn atates: "incident not related to BISD employment"

Since a police officer in the state of Texas is considered at work, and available to respond, 24 hours a day, how can that be an accurate statement?
Looks like another attempt to minimize the seriousness an act by the BISD.
Of course someone will say" why not report positive news about BISD"
It would take a really good investigative reporter to find any positive news to report, now wouldn't it?
