Beaumont police arrest two teens for burglary
Officers with the Beaumont Police Department arrested two teenage males in relation to a call they received reporting a burglary in progress in the 1900 block of Pierce Street in Beaumont on Monday night, March 17, at about 10:53 p.m., police report.
According to a news release from BPD, the caller reporting the burglary said two black males kicked in a door and entered a residence on Pierce Street. When officers arrived on scene, the witness said the two burglars were still inside the house.
Officers took Shane Thibodeaux, a 19-year-old Beaumont man, into custody after a struggle, according to the report. Khalil Robinson, a 17-year-old Beaumont man, ran from the scene, police report, but was apprehended by officers in the 2000 block of Wilson. The owner of the house, who was not at the residence at the time of the burglary, arrived on scene and wished to file charges.
Thibodeaux and Robinson were arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Thibodeaux was charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Resisting Arrest. Robinson was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation and Evading Arrest/Detention.
