Beaumont man re-indicted for molestations
A 53-year-old Beaumont man has been charged with molesting his stepdaughters.
Keith Hickman was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury May 22 for continuing sexual abuse of a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child, both first-degree felonies.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Examiner, the first victim — Hickman’s oldest stepdaughter — told police Hickman had begun to sexually molest her in June 2009.
A felony investigative summary obtained by The Examiner said the young girl told police the molestation had been ongoing and accused Hickman of also sexually molesting her sister.
The outcry by the elder stepdaughter apparently prompted the outcry of the victim’s younger sister, who told police Hickman has had intercourse with her and has been molesting her since the second grade, according to the felony investigative summary.
Now police have re-indicted Hickman on aggravated sexual assault and continuous sexual assault of a child. Both girls are younger than 14 years of age, according to the indictments.
Hickman was arrested Aug. 23, 2011, and given a $75,000 bond for each indicted charge. Hickman’s trial is set for Aug. 25.
