A 63-year-old Orangefield resident was arrested after shooting a 69-year-old man with a shotgun on Saturday morning, Jan. 4.
According to a news release from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a call regarding the shooting that took place at a trailer park in the 3300 block of Elk Drive at approximately 8:41 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found that the victim, identified as Clinton Tony Fuselier of Bridge City, had been struck in the head and neck by pellets from a shotgun. Fuselier was conscious and able to describe the shooting to police. According to the report, the victim, who was the landlord at the trailer park, was at the property to assess conditions when he was approached by one of his tenants, Terry Lee Koelliker. Koelliker was holding a shotgun. The man discharged the weapon striking Fuselier in the head and neck.
Deputies reported Fuselier's injuries were non-life threatening, and the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment via a private vehicle. Deputies arrested Koelliker, who remained at the scene after the shooting, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. He remains in the Orange County Jail at this time on a $100,000 bond.
OCSO is still investigating the incident, which they report seems to stem from an earlier dispute between the two men.
