Two men were killed as the result of a shooting in Port Arthur early Thursday, June 6. According to a news release from the Port Arthur Police Department, police were dispatched to the 2800 block of 59th Street at approximately 1:05 a.m. in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle.The caller told police that someone appeared to be slumped over in the passenger’s seat while the driver’s seat was unoccupied. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found one man dead on the ground outside the driver’s door apparently as the result of gunshot wounds. The passenger was found deceased in the vehicle, also appearing to have sustained at least one gunshot, according to the release. The victims were identified as Demario Polk, 24, of Port Arthur and Carlos Deshawn Lowe, 23, also of Port Arthur. A possible witness was located and has been interviewed by the Major Crimes Unit, according to PAPD. More details will be released as they become available.
