A man facing murder charges for the death of a Vidor teen was convicted and sentenced to 75 years in prison last week. Aug. 27, a jury found Kelvin Lee Roy, 32, of Beaumont guilty in the Feb. 7 murder of Alexandria “Lexy” Bertrand, 16, of Vidor. Bertrand died when Roy purposefully crashed his car into her family’s vehicle.

Aug. 28, the results of the hearing were delivered, and BISD is being held liable for the mistreatment of one of the district’s more defenseless students.
