March 1, the West Hardin Ag Mechanics group shared that, “Once again, we are blessed beyond measure.” The group that supports students of West Hardin ISD was celebrating “what some go a lifetime trying,” as the young stars excelled at the San Antonio Livestock Show.

Traffic alert for Jefferson County

There will be full closures on US 69 southbound at SH 73 and US 69 northbound at 39th Street on Wednesday, March 11, and Thursday, March 12, continuing into Friday, March 13, according to a report from the Jefferson County Texas Office of Emergency Management. Nightly closures will occur from 9 p.m.

Examiner-endorsed candidates win races

Voting for the March primary elections ended March 3. Among the closely watched local races, The Examiner endorsed Democrat AJ Turner for Jefferson County Pct. 4 commissioner and Republican Trent Ashby for District 3 state senator. Both won their respective races.

Beaumont moves forward with internal-focused city manager search

Following an executive session during a special meeting of the Beaumont City Council on Feb. 20, the city formally began the recruitment process for its next city manager. The job posting was open for a brief seven-day period and closed at 5 p.m. Feb. 27.
