Sheriff Mitch Woods accepted the donation of photographs of previous sheriffs.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is getting a new piece of art with some great history courtesy of former Jefferson County Judge and Sheriff Carl Griffith. Thanks to a bit of luck and networking, Griffith recently acquired a rustic plaque that features the pictures of all the men who served as Jefferson County Sheriff from 1877-1947.

Police are investigating two separate incidents of arson related to motor vehicle fires, according to the Orange Police Department. Strangely, or maybe not so strangely, the first complainant who called to inform police his vehicle was aflame told officers he saw a car matching the description of the vehicle damaged in the second incident of reported arson.
