Orange police trailing a man believed to be vandalizing an Orange area neighborhood were not thrown off his track even after the suspect made an impromptu wardrobe change while attempting to evade arrest.
According to a report filed at the station, Orange police received a call July 21 in reference to a man breaking the mirror off a vehicle in the 600 block of Knox. Upon arrival, police located a suspect, who was wearing a red and white striped shirt and shorts. When officers made contact with the suspect, he fled the scene ad jumped a fence leading into the Arthur Robinson apartment complex. Dwindling down his clothing to only boxer sorts, the suspect continue to flee custody and officers then noticed the man attempting to enter several apartments in the housing complex.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Norris McGhee, was eventually captured and placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant, criminal mischief and evading detention.
