The Vidor Chamber of Commerce presents the Texas Star Music Festival and Texas Bar-B-Q Fest on April 24-27 at Conn Park located near I-10 and Old Hwy 90 in Vidor. Over 40 cook teams will be competing and festivalgoers can enjoy plenty of good food, vendors, carnival rides and live entertainment. Admission is $2 per person with a parking fee of $5.

The 11th annual Gulf Coast Gala will be rocking to the sounds of legendary rock-n-roll musician Johnny Rivers on Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. inside the Carl Parker Center on the campus of Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Individual tickets to this formal event are $125.

Rivers has had nine Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and 17 in the Top 40 from 1964-1977. In total, he has sold over 30 million records and collected 17 gold records, 29 chart hits and two Grammy Awards.

With more than 20 million albums sold, national rock act 3 Doors Down have announced a special summer tour titled “3 Doors Down Acoustic — Songs from the Basement” with a date in Beaumont on Saturday, Aug. 30 in the historic Jefferson Theatre. Tickets for this all ages show go on sale this Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m. via the Beaumont Civic Center box office for $65, $47.50, $35.
