We’ve all heard of good clean fun, but what about good dirty fun? Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum on the Lamar University campus will transform into a 23-obstacle mud run on June 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as part of the museum’s second annual Great Outdoors Day.

Orange Community Players’ circle of life has always revolved around its talented and committed volunteers like Julie McDaniel, who has volunteered with OCP for the last six years. Your favorite songs, dance numbers, and scenes from popular, classic animated films will come to life on stage June 12-14 as Orange Community Players (OCP) presents its 10th annual Fun for Funds: An Animated Musical Review. Audience members can expect to see nearly 30 songs performed from Shrek, The Prince of Egypt, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, Beauty and the Beast and more.

What does it feel like to experience a mine cave-in? Trapped in total darkness, with a dwindling supply of oxygen, food and water and perhaps a diminishing stock of trust, patience, and sanity as well, five struggle to survive in a 1973 West Virginia coal mine in Butcher Holler Here We Come.

The production is available to Southeast Texas audiences thanks to a unique collaboration between Brooklyn-based theater group Aztec Economy, local independent theater group Ad Hoc Beaumont and Beaumont Community Players.
