Ginger, 4-month old Corgi mix puppy

You will fall for Ginger in a snap! This cute cookie is a 4-month old, 11-pound Corgi mix pup. Ginger’s owners surrendered her to our shelter because they did not want to housetrain a puppy. This takes a little patience and creativity! She has a beautiful golden-blond, medium-length coat, and cute, fluffy tufts of fur on her ears. She most likely will remain a fairly small dog. Ginger is affectionate and fun to cuddle. She is as playful and fun as any pup could be.

If you follow my column regularly (and I appreciate those who do), you may remember that we met Mary Magdalene, the person I believe received the most important message ever given: “Go and tell My disciples that I am alive.” These words came from the Lord Jesus after He had risen from the dead as He said He would. We then met Peter, also called Son of Jonah, the Apostle Peter, Simon Peter and “the Rock.” (Yes, I know we have a modern day wrestler named the Rock, but he has little strength compared to the man Jesus called the Rock).

Another destination for superb garden inspiration is Normandy on the coast of France. Its rugged beauty and American-loving people make it a great place to visit. From the wind-torn vines and trees on the coastline to hidden interior garden spaces to Mont St. Michel itself with its marshy spaces and super interesting topography, it is a “must see.”

Change is not surprising in human experience. We are humorously told that as Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden, Adam said, “Well, Eve, things are changing!” And it has been that way ever since. In a meeting Jan. 26, 2015, Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced measurable goals and a timeline to move the Medicare program, and the health care system at large, toward paying providers based on the quality, rather than the quantity of care they give patients.
