Lamar University has honored Jerry Lin, professor of environmental engineering, as the Distinguished Faculty Lecturer for 2014. “Chasing Quicksilver: From an Emperor’s Tomb to the Global Environment” will be the topic of his lecture, sponsored by ExxonMobil, to be presented Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. in the University Theatre. The Lamar University Faculty Senate will host the lecture, which is open to the public without charge.
