Brothers David Lee and Jimmy Kaiser invite Southeast Texans to celebrate the holidays at their 12th annual Kaiser Family Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 20, at The Gig with doors opening at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for ages 18 years and older and can be purchased at the door. A little country, a little acoustic — a little of everything — and a lot of great tunes.

Jimmy said that unlike concerts where the audience just stands and listens, the Kaisers encourage the crowd to get noisy.

I have long believed that our attitude greatly determines our level of gratitude. If we spend our time thinking about how many good things we have in our lives, we have little time to dwell on the bad or wrong things. And I suppose this is a well-traveled two-way street. If our attitudes stink, then our levels of gratitude will be low or non-existent.

Say “decorate for Christmas” and many of us immediately think of the plants that say Christmas. Your decorating list could include poinsettias, paperwhites, rosemary, amaryllis, holly, Christmas cactus, Christmas rose, mistletoe and your own Christmas tree.
